Taxi to Prison” is a feature film produced by Circle 24
In a Somali city where a man’s value is measured by his ability to provide, Abdi is a young husband and father trapped in unemployment, addiction, and growing shame. While his pregnant wife, Hodan, works tirelessly to support their family, Abdi drifts through his days chewing khat and struggling to reclaim his sense of purpose.
When Hodan quietly gives him the money she has painfully saved, Abdi sees one final opportunity to turn his life around: buying a second-hand taxi and becoming a provider again. Filled with hope and pride, he enters a local garage to close the deal, believing the car could finally change his family’s future.
But the opportunity soon reveals a darker side, pulling Abdi into mounting pressure, hidden dangers, and choices that threaten to destroy the very family he is trying to save. As desperation grows and trust begins to fracture, Abdi must confront whether redemption is still possible before everything slips beyond his control.
