Taxi to Prison” is a feature film produced by Circle 24


it is a film that summarizes the real-life situations faced by Somali youth. The story follows a young man who is married, has one child, and another on the way. He is unemployed, while his wife is the one who works and supports the family. He spends his time chewing khat. One day, his wife gives him money she had been saving. He tells her he will use it to buy a second-hand taxi, since a new car is too expensive. She agrees and tells him she will lend him the remaining amount he needs. He then goes to a garage owned by a friend of his, where a taxi is being sold. However, the car turns out to be stolen and is being searched for by the police.

The Flames of Tradition” is a feature film produced by Circle 24.


it tells a story about the harsh conditions and rural life. The film follows two neighboring families living in the countryside: Reer Suldan and Reer Guuleed. There are water wells meant to be shared and used by the whole community, but a politician named Cantar, who comes from Reer Guuleed, diverts them for his own interests. As conflict grows over the control of the wells, tensions rise between the two families. Amid this dispute, Hamse, a young man from Reer Guuleed, is in love with Degan, a girl from Reer Suldan. However, as the conflict escalates, Hamse ends up taking Degan by force.

Muliyo” is a short film produced by Circle 24

 

based on a true story. It was filmed in the historic city of Saylac.

The story follows Muliyo, who meets a young man named Maah. They fall in love and agree to turn their relationship into marriage. However, Maah is challenged to bring pearls as a condition for the الزواج (marriage).

Maah sets out on a long journey in search of pearls, traveling as far as Mumbai. A long time passes while he is away. Meanwhile, Muliyo regularly goes to the city’s port, hoping to see a ship arrive and bring him back.

Her father becomes angry and warns her not to return to the port again. Eventually, Muliyo is given in marriage to another man. The film continues from there, unfolding the rest of her story.

Unrecognized” is a documentary film made in Somaliland

produced collaboratively by Kura Production and Circle 24. The documentary explores the rich and diverse landscape of Somaliland, highlighting its ancient cities, natural mountains, and gold mining areas. It also showcases key locations such as the Port of Berbera, industrial developments, and popular tourist destinations.

The film provides an in-depth look at everyday life and economic activity, including livestock markets, agriculture, and the trade of live animals. It captures the resilience and growth of Somaliland over the past 35 years, illustrating how the nation has developed despite challenges.

In addition, the documentary celebrates the cultural heritage and traditions of Somaliland, offering viewers a comprehensive perspective on its people, history, and progress. It brings together stories of business, environment, and culture into one powerful and informative narrative.

 This documentary by Production Circle 24 tells the powerful recent story of Erigavo, a city once marked by recurring violence and deadly clan conflicts. It highlights the transformation that followed a major peace initiative led by Abdirahman Cirro, alongside respected traditional leaders including Suldan Siad Suldan Abdisalan and Ugaas Abdirashid Ugaas Rooble. Through real footage, interviews, and narrative storytelling, the film captures Erigavo’s journey from instability to reconciliation, emphasizing the critical role of both political leadership and traditional authority in restoring peace and unity within the community.

Muliyo – A Cinematic Short Film

“Muliyo” is a high-standard cinematic short film produced by Circle 24, based on a true story and filmed in the historic city of Saylac. The film captures the beauty of traditional coastal life while presenting a deeply emotional narrative rooted in Somali culture and heritage. With its rich visuals and authentic setting, it brings to life a timeless story of love, patience, and destiny.

The story follows Muliyo, a young woman who falls in love with a man named Maah. Their bond grows strong, and they agree to marry. However, Maah is given a difficult challenge—to bring rare pearls as a symbol of his commitment. Determined to prove his love, he embarks on a long and dangerous journey, traveling far from home in search of the precious treasure.

As time passes, Muliyo waits faithfully, often going to the port in hopes of his return. But pressure from her family grows, and her father forbids her from waiting any longer. Eventually, she is married off to another man. The film continues to unfold the emotional consequences of love, sacrifice, and the passage of time.
